Summer Institutes Home

The Excellence through Collaboration and Outreach Center provides minigrants for Summer Institutes to expand educational and collaborative opportunities for faculty and students in the Graduate School of Education.

In general, the intent of the minigrant program is to help sustain the work started in 1997, and to also support a few new summer institute programs that provide quality professional development and enhance teaching methods and research. The purpose of these grants is to provide "seed" money that programs can leverage in their on-going fundraising efforts. We expect and anticipate that successful programs will find other external sources of funds to sustain and continue their work.

Minigrants provide funds of up to $5,000 to support payment for conference materials; photocopying; guest speaker lodging, food, and travel; and supplies. Projects that were funded in the past include the ARBOL Summer Biliteracy Institute and Charter Schools Institute.
